Voice & Biometric Consent

Effective date: 23 August 2026

Please read this before you record. This is a separate, explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a) GDPR, distinct from accepting our Terms & Conditions. It is optional: if you do not give it, you simply cannot have stories narrated in your own voice. The English version governs; translations are provided for convenience only.

The data controller is Sergii Cherniavskyi, a self-employed individual (autónomo), NIF (NIE) Z0589427B, Av. de les Corts Valencianes 26, 46015 Valencia, Spain — support@sleepycuddle.com. Your full rights are described in the Privacy Policy; you may also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es).

2. What you are consenting to

You record a short sample of your speaking voice. From it, voice-synthesis (text-to-speech) providers acting as our processors create a voiceprint and voice clone — a model of your voice that can reproduce it. Because that model can uniquely identify you, it is biometric data, a special category of personal data under Article 9 GDPR.

It is processed for one purpose only: narrating your own family's bedtime stories in your voice. It is never sold, never used to identify you or anyone else elsewhere, never shared with other users, and never used for advertising. Some providers process voice data outside the EU/EEA (including the United States); those transfers are protected by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

3. Only your own voice

Record only your own voice. Never record a child, and never record another person — their voice is their biometric data, and only they can consent to its use.

You can withdraw this consent at any time, as easily as you gave it:

  • delete the voice in the app, or delete your entire account — either permanently erases the recording and the clone; or
  • e-mail support@sleepycuddle.com to have it done for you.

Erasure, including at our processors, completes within 30 days. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing already carried out (for example, stories already narrated).

By confirming in the app and starting the recording, you declare:

  • I consent to the processing of my voice recording and to the creation and use of a voiceprint and voice clone — biometric data — under Article 9(2)(a) and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, solely to narrate my own family's stories in my voice.
  • The voice I am recording is my own.
  • I understand my voice data may be processed outside the EU/EEA under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • I understand I can withdraw this consent at any time, and that withdrawal deletes my recording and voice clone.

We log your account e-mail, the date and time, and the version of this notice (23 August 2026) as the record of your consent.
